The ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ Peace Pole

With permission, palawa kani, the language of Tasmanian Aborigines is also used on the College’s Peace Pole, acting as a reminder to think and act in the spirit of peace to all.

The College’s Peace Pole was a gift from the Rotary Club of Glenorchy in 2019 and is part of a global movement for peace. It is marked with the message ‘May Peace Prevail on Earth’ in different languages chosen by the College.

Our four chosen languages include palawa kani, the language of Tasmanian Aborigines as well as English, Japanese and Hindi.

In palawa kani - all in our community as well as visitors are greeted with the message on our Peace Pole: pulingina lumi milaythina pakana (Welcome here on Aboriginal land).
